Celtic Brooch No. 48

The art of the Celt is the only indigenous British art form of world significance, yet until relatively recently it has been largely ignored. Each of these designs incorporates endless Celtic Interlacing, with its “over’s and under’s” representing the “ups and downs” of life; and the unbroken continuity of the endless ribbon symbolises the hope of eternal life. As such they are considered by many as a talisman of long life.

Approximate Size: 45 × 36mm

Art Pewter Silver Jewellery and Clan crests are hand wrought in Pewter. Pewter does not contain silver but is an ancient alloy of tin, lead and copper and has been in use for 1,000 years or more. The silver appearance is in fact a plated finish of Palladium (similar to Platinum) which unlike silver, is resistant to tarnishing and will not scratch readily. The Gold finish is 23 carat electroplated and the Antique finish is a plated finish of Antique silver. The majority of the Stones are quality glass imitations with precision cut facets to enhance the natural colour spectrum.
