Culloden Sword Kilt Pin No. 65

The Kilt pin became fashionable in the 1800s and has continued to this day, universally worn on all kilts or kilted skirts. Highlanders invariably elaborated the metal parts of their wearing apparel either by the use of precious metal or by introducing Cairngorm stones, polished pebbles or jewels; and this practice later extended to kilt pins.

Size Approximately 22 × 98mm

Art Pewter Silver Jewellery and Clan crests are hand wrought in Pewter. Pewter does not contain silver but is an ancient alloy of tin, lead and copper and has been in use for 1,000 years or more. The silver appearance is in fact a plated finish of Palladium (similar to Platinum) which unlike silver, is resistant to tarnishing and will not scratch readily. The Gold finish is 23 carat electroplated and the Antique finish is a plated finish of Antique silver. The majority of the Stones are quality glass imitations with precision cut facets to enhance the natural colour spectrum.
