EMBROIDERY

Embroidery is the process by which a design is sewn onto a garment using a computerised embroidery machine. The process gives a highly professional long lasting appearance and is suitable for text or logos. We use modern industrial embroidery machines which give a professional finish.

In order to produce an embroidered logo we have to manually redraw the logo in a format which can be read by an embroidery machine. This conversion process is known as digitisation. Plain text in simple fonts is easier and therefore cheaper to convert than embroidered logos.

Embroidery versus Print
+ Quality Image
+ Long Lasting
+ Multicolour at no additional cost

- Costs more than Printing
- Expensive for large logos
- Embroidery cannot be used where a graduated colour effect is required.
- Difficult to recreate small text legibly

Transfer Printing

This involves taking a high resolution image and printing the image onto commercial quality transfer paper. We can print images in most formats including BMP,TIF, GIF, AI, Jpeg. The quality of the image produced is directly related to the quality of the image supplied so it is important to supply a quality images. Once the image is on the transfer paper it is then taken and applied using a commercial heat press and silicone release paper to the item of clothing.

Transfer printing is a fast, low cost way of producing small quantities of printed t-shirts or printed clothing.
Transfer Printing compared to Other Printing Methods
+ Ideal for small quantities
+ Cheaper set up
+ Great for large number of print colours

- Appearance not as popular as screen print
- Can only be printed onto white garments

Cad Cut Printing (Also known as Vinyl Cut)

Firstly the logo or text needs to have an outline added. The design is then input direct into a digital cutter which electronically cuts the design on to a single colour sheet of flock, foil or vinyl. The uncut areas are then removed by hand. This process is known as “weeding”. The cut panels are then taken and are applied using a commercial heat press and silicone paper.
